A person who aids or contributes to the commission or concealment of a felony crime.

This can be helping the person plan the crime or encouraging them to commit it (an accessory before the fact), or by helping them escape punishment or arrest (an accesssory after the fact).  In many (but not all) jurisidctions, an accomplice is typically present at the scene of the crime, whereas an accessory is not.
