Battery:

A crime defined by unwanted physical contact, most often requiring that some harm be done to the victim.

Note that there is often confusion between the distinct crimes of assault and battery because some jurisdictions have merged the two ideas.  At common law, a battery resulted in a harm, and an assault was an apprehension or risk of such a harm.  Modern battery statutes are often graded according to the degree of harm done to the victim.
