Damage and Healing

Alacrity Fantasy, A TTRPG by Adam J.. McKee and James G. Walker, Jr.

Your character’s Hit Points (HP) measure overall health and resilience. They are calculated by rolling 1d10 for each point of Body, then adding your Strength. Stun Points (SP) equal your maximum Hit Points and track fatigue or “shock” damage.

Whenever you lose Hit Points, check how far below your maximum total you’ve fallen. Each threshold imposes penalties on every roll. These penalties are cumulative with any other modifiers:

  • Below 25% of Max HP: –10%
  • Below 50% of Max HP: –20%
  • Below 75% of Max HP: –30%
  • At or Below 10% of Max HP: Incapacitated (no actions)

If an attack or effect deals Stun damage, it reduces your Stun Points first. Falling below these same thresholds in Stun Points also applies roll penalties. However, Stun Points heal faster: you recover 1d10 SP per hour, unless the Game Master rules otherwise. For every 5 SP you lose, you also lose 1 HP that must heal as normal.
