What You Will Learn
In this section, you’ll learn why the patrol division is considered the “backbone” of policing. You’ll explore the Kansas City Preventive Patrol Experiment and its implications for law enforcement practice. Additionally, you’ll compare and contrast proactive and reactive policing, understand the origins and methods of Problem-oriented Policing, and define and describe the major components of Community-oriented Policing.
