Ingredients List

  • 1 can turnip greens
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can tomatoes and green chilis
  • 1 can black-eyed peas (drained)
  • 1 can great northern beans (drained)
  • 1 can chili beans (drained)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 1 large onion

Preparation Steps

  1. Slice the sausage into ¼ inch “wheels” and finely dice the onion.
  2. Saute the sausage and onions in a large skillet until fully cooked.
  3. In a large pot, combine turnip greens, chicken broth, tomatoes and green chilis, black-eyed peas, great northern beans, and chili beans. Bring to a boil.
  4. Once the sausage and onions are fully cooked, add them to the pot with other ingredients.
  5. Cook the soup for about 30 minutes.
