• SLO 1: Gain an understanding of the four main scales of measurement in social science research: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio, recognizing how each scale describes variables differently and influences the type of statistics used.
• SLO 2: Develop the ability to apply and differentiate between the various scales of measurement, including understanding the nuances of nominal scales for simple categorization, ordinal scales for ranking, interval scales for consistent intervals, and ratio scales with an absolute zero point.
