Why You’re Fat and Sick
If you want somebody to hold your hand and comfort you while exploring better nutrition and a low-fat lifestyle, you’ve come to the wrong place. This book won’t pat you on the head; it will punch you in the gut. You are fat and sick, and you are dying. Hopefully, it will piss you off and get you out of the recliner, finally angry enough to do something about it. The language in this book is crude throughout, and no attempt has been made to protect anyone’s feelings. This book is for you if you want the unvarnished truth in simple (often offensive) terms. Your health may not be your fault, but it is your responsibility.
Below are the notes/references/further reading organized by chapter. In addition, I’ve made the text free to all.
Caveat: I am not a medical doctor or a nutritionist. I can’t and don’t give medical advice. I’m just a fat guy that discovered a few things about how we get fat and sick and what we can do about it. What I say may be wrong, but I encourage you to follow up with the sources I cite in this little book. I also encourage you to find a competent physician and do this right. The biggest challenge to that, it seems, is finding a competent physician. If your doctor feeds you the line of bullshit from the USDA on the back of bread bags, fire them.
